i am so not good at stuff like this

but I felt somehow the need to celebrate 2010 for future readings.

2010 has been a pretty full year, a lucky one I dare say or at least a fun one despite the inevitable bad things that happened, I am grateful for:

being a broadway newbie: I don’t consider myself a broadway fan, mostly because I live a world and a half away from there but still I enjoy seeing all those pics and videos from here with all the happiness (..and envy) that it may bring!
Sometimes anyway things just seem to go the right way so I am most definitely thankful for my Gavin Creel obsession, without it I wouldn’t have rediscovered Hair, I was lucky enough to see both Gavin, Will and the whole broadway tribe and the fabulous understudies, I was blown away both times. I am thankful for my nerve at the right time that made me dance on stage with the tribe the first time, say something that actually made sense to Gavin and get a hug from him. I am thankful for my nerve again for all the other west end stagedoors: both stagedoors with jgroff were fantastic, I actually had the chance to tell him how much I admire him (and yes, that I didn’t know him thanks to glee, or whatever), the last hair stagedoor was just heartbreaking and I am also grateful for my being ridiculous and funny (more than) sometimes!
I am thankful for my Spring Awakening obsession that brought me to discover the amazing artist that is John Gallagher Jr., who cares if I never met him or I never will, I’m more than happy this way. I am really extremely thankful for my American Idiot obsession that introduced me to some amazing artists and taught me that broadway people sometimes do share my musical taste!

my London holidays: I can say that I had both times the time of my life, I love that city and the way it makes you feel, like I said I could sit in Piccadilly Circus all my life and be happy.
I am thankful for my night in London after an italian dinner with friends, there’s no other city I love the most after midnight, even when drunkards yell at you all the time.

music: if you know me a bit you’d knew that I constantly listen to music. All. The. Time. Nothing makes me cry like a good band or a good singer and nothing helps me through good times and bad times like my favorite tracks.
I am thankful for every concert I went to this year because I love the feeling after a good one when your heart is full and your legs just can’t function anymore: I am thankful for Muse at Wembley because despite everything they still are one of my favorite bands and I love them to death; I am thankful for Kings of Leon in Bologna, they were amazing and I must admit I had low expectations (I am thankful for Nathan Followill’s drumstick, Caleb and Matt pointing at us and their being nice with us in first row :D). I am thankful for all the good bands I listened to this year especially for The Gaslight Anthem because they are really freaking amazing, they’re literally the only thing I’ve been listening to these last two months: their lyrics and Brian’s voice just tear me apart. There’s no band I’d love to see the most in 2011 just to shout everything, lose my voice and sweat.

friends: let me just say, I’m not the friendliest person on the planet, I choose carefully my friends but then again, I have some kick-ass friends out there.
I am thankful for my friends at university -which will never read this probably- they bear with me all the time, everyday, they help me with exams, they pretend I’m nice during our exams period when I know I’m a bitch to everyone until I’m done!
I’m thankful for the mad people I met through these years in the most absurd way, despite everything we’re still together and it’s nice to know there’s always someone to suppport me when It’s one of those days or when there’s a concert near.
I am thankful for the eleven hours outside the kings of leon venue in december, we were freezing our asses off but we had fun, we kicked some ass inside and we got that damn first row. You’re honestly one of the reasons why I love going to concerts!
I’m thankful for Ioana, of course, I can’t believe how randomly we met but I’m pretty sure now everything has a reason! I had such a good time in London and I am grateful for you bearing with me being all giggly and ridiculous at stagedoors lol!!! I am also thankful for you not thinking I was some kind of serial killer and coming to London with us :)
I am also extremely thankful for everyone I met through tumblr, I enjoy being part of your lives somehow even from my little town here!

family: let’s just say again I am not the most familiar (is this the right word? ok whatever) person here. I am really thankful for the support and the obstacles I costantly find in my way, because they taught me to literally fight and work hard if I want something.
I am thankful because my family saw my perseverance and they chose to support me in this madness that is the month in NY I will spend after I graduate, I am working for that, too.

I think I’m done with this thing, it came out longer than I thought (i’msorryididntmeantoboreyou) but it had to be done. I hope I didn’t forget anything or anyone, if I did then it wasn’t on purpose I swear.
I just hope 2011 is twice as great as 2010 because I’m twice as determined.
